Sharp's Cemetery

Sharp's Cemetery, Inc is a non-profit organization whose mission is to maintain and administer the graveyard formerly owned by Rock Presbyterian Church in Fair Hill, Maryland. The earliest recorded burial we have is of Robert Powell, who died in January 1753, aged 64y.

Green Burial Information 

Death can be a place of life again with a natural burial. Sense of place has as much to do with what is above ground in direct connection to grave space.

Sharp’s Cemetery has a dedicated section for green or natural burials.  

The grounds are the ideal venue for families in search of an environmentally sensible option to leave the planet naturally.

Green burial, which is understood to be burial without embalming (the use of preservatives such as formaldehyde or other chemicals) and burial without a vault or traditional casket.  Additional information is available upon request.
